IT IS YOUR OWN BACK YARD!!!
![]() MAKE IT A MEMORABLE ONE AND BEAT THE CITY
HEAT, WE'RE ONLY 4.5 HRS
FROM VANCOUVER!!
A short drive from Vancouver a place at a different
pace awaits. Begin your journey meandering up the beautifully scenic Sea
to Sky highway. Open your car window and smell the cedar and moss forests
growing alongside the highway, let the salt air breeze blow through your
hair. The farther you travel away from the city the more relaxed you
feel. Soon you will reach the green meadows of Pemberton Valley. The
crops are already up and the animals are fat on the new summer shoots. The first cut of hay is
drying in the fields and all you see is the one tonne bales of hay dotting the
valley floor. Although the Hurley is a dusty bumpy route
it is the beginning of your back country adventure. Take it slow and enjoy
the tour. Fireweed, Tiger Lilies and Wild Daisies line the gravel road
till you reach Gold Bridge. The reservoir is filling up fast and the
turquoise blue lake looks so refreshing. The Saskatoons have
finished blooming and it won't be long now until the tastey snacks are ready
for picking!
![]() Finally, after your five hour drive you roll into the main ranch on Pearson Pond. You are greeted by our friendly staff offering you a nice icy beverage. Come sit by the pond and feel the cool breeze. The horses are all around you in the enclosed meadow. You hear their hooves beating the earth as they chase each other out of pure enjoyment. Whinnies and Snorts make you realize how happy these animals are. After your refreshing glass of ice tea you are invited to come and make yourself comfortable in your ranch cabin for the evening. Come settle in it will be an early morning tomorrow. Up with the roosters a hearty pancake breakfast
awaits you. Coffee has never tasted better than on a brisk summer
morning. You can hear the wranglers calling the horses in and packing has
begun. The excitement of the journey into the back country is just waiting
to start.
![]() This years tours have already begun. The season has been fantastic. The grass is high now in the mountains and the lake although brisk is comfortable for swimming on a hot day. Spruce Lake is bubbling with trout for the fry pan and the colours on the hillsides have not ever been so abundant. The balsam roots are at their peak now. Recently, on our tours through Spruce Lake we have had a mama grizzly with her three young cubs. All fat with shiny coats from eating the trout in the creek. The wildlife photo's this year have been endless. The cozy feel of our log cabin at Trigger Lake is just calling out for more guests to host. The rustic beauty of this precious place is captivating. Nestled off the shore of the lake with grass meadows all around makes it hard to leave. The high passes are just about clear of snow now. Much earlier than expected. What an exhilarating journey when you travel over 8000feet by horseback. Our sure footed horses make even the novice riders feel at ease. So... whether you are a group of friends, business
colleagues or family looking for an adventure of a lifetime this is it.
Close to home, no need to cross borders or deal with exchange rates. Just
a short drive up the highway to where the rejuvenating effects of the wilderness
will take hold of you. A great way to spend the summer. Check out
our specials and discounts on group bookings. And most of all come and let
us take care of all the holiday planning and arrangements. Sit back around
the campfire and relax and know that tomorrow is going to bring you yet another
great day!
![]() We look forward to taking you on a safe, fun and adventurous summer holiday. Families are welcome! Don't leave the kids at home, this is one holiday the teenagers will want to come on! Happy Holidays....Warren and Casie
